Success Story of Konthoujam Pusparani Devi
Getting a very important training of Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) under the aegis of EIACP (Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme) Hub, Directorate of Environment, Government of Manipur caused more anxiousness, a bit of frustration due to unfulfilled expectation of large scale marketing of kouna handicraft products for Konthoujam Pushparani Devi, a talented graduate and B.Ed holder and above all an artisan of Kouna handicraft.
She organised a specific training of Kouna handicraft for forty girls and women from her locality in Waithou Thiyam, near Waithou-Phumnon Wetland. There had been a bottleneck in her and friends’ business due to lack of proper marketing facility and consumer demands.
After my meagre effort of connecting the artisans, making SHGs and marketing innovations through Manipur Maparee web page, in addition to process of registering the girls and women in DC Handicraft.
